History of Duncan Builder's Supply
Duncan Builder?s Supply started out over 40 years ago at a sheriff?s sale. Arvel Duncan and his brother in law M.J. ?Mutt? Lewis purchased a small lumberyard on 7th street in Duncan, Oklahoma in 1964. The two men had owned a construction business for many years, and now looked to expand into the lumberyard business. They purchased several more lumberyards, including Chickasha Lumber and Ardmore Lumber Company. Arvel, uncomfortable in the lumber business, eventually sold his share to Mutt and Robert Davenport in 1976. The two men steadily built up the company, increasing both the size of their lumberyards and the number of their customers. In the past year, Duncan Builder?s Supply was bought outright by Mike Lewis, Mutt?s son. Mike is now the CEO and president of a company that can satisfy the needs of even the most serious builder. With over 90 total employees, the company is bigger and better than ever entering its 40th year in existence. A solid foundation was set by Lewis? father and uncle, as well as Robert Davenport. Now he looks to the future, hoping to build on that foundation.
